Garden City (N.Y.) Nassau Community College safety Levon Williams committed to Fordham. Williams was a former prep standout at Fort Hamilton.
"I'm a New York City kid and I feel with comfortable with the coaches at Fordham," Williams said. "Coach Moorhead showed a lot of interest in me. He seems like a very honest man. Fordham has great academics and I feel it can set me up for life."
Moorhead has earned a reputation at his last two stops at Akron and UConn as being a tireless worker and front line recruiter. Now, running his own program recruits are seeing that energy.
"There is a new energy at Fordham," Williams stated. "I really just want to be a part of that. My family will be able to come see me play. I have had several friends attend Fordham and graduate from there.
"Coach Moorhead is the right fit there," continued Williams. "He is new and so am I. He is an alumni and he really wants to bring the tradition back to Fordham. These are exciting times for the program.
The 6-foot-3, 200-pound, safety chose Fordham over offers from Gardner-Webb, Howard, Albany, Bethune-Cookman and some interest from Rutgers.
