Noland Visiting Oregon State
"We're leaving early in the morning," said Cyril Noland in regard to visiting Oregon State tomorrow along with teammate and fellow OSU commit Kentrell Brice. "I'm looking forward to checking out the atmosphere, meeting people, and seeing the facilities." The Beavers lost DBs coach Keith Heyward to Washington yesterday, but Noland remains firm with his pledge. "That won't affect things," he said. "I had developed a good relationship with Coach Heyward and it would have been nice to play under him, but that's the beast of the game. "Even though Coach Heyward is my position coach, I wasn't recruited by him. I was recruited by Coach (Chris) Brasfield. I feel great about the commitment. I like what Oregon State has going on, and the people around the organization. "So far, so good." Noland heard from Coach Brasfield on Thursday. "He wanted to make sure that we were on the same page," said the senior safety. "He mentioned the coaching change. He said that good people surround themselves with good people, and that the head coach will bring in a good replacement to coach the secondary." Noland and Brice brought Ruston to the second round of the Louisiana Class 5A playoffs in 2011. Noland isn't a stranger to the Pacific Northwest, having participated in The Opening - which was held in Beaverton, Oregon - last summer.
