The Vols Offer Shelton
On Wednesday night, Devian Shelton, the three-star safety from Inglewood (Calif.) received and exciting phone call from Tennessee's defensive backs/recruiting coordinator, Terry Joseph. "Coach Joseph called and offered me. At first I didn't know if the offer was real, but then my coach called and confirmed that I had a solid offer," said Shelton. "When I knew it was official, I got really excited." Shelton discussed what standouts to him about the Vols' football program. "They put a bunch of defensive backs into the league," commented Shelton. "Also when I was talking to Coach Joseph yesterday, we talked about their depth-chart. He said they are really in need of defensive backs, which is important because I want to go where I can play right away." After receiving an offer from Tennessee, Shelton has decided to rearrange his schedule for this month. Prior to receiving this offer, Shelton was planning on taking officials to Nebraska, Washington State and San Diego State. Shelton mapped out his new travel schedule for the weeks leading up to Signing Day. "I am going out to Nebraska this weekend and next weekend (Jan.20th) I will be visiting the Vols," said Shelton.
