Doss Talks Tulane Official
"We bonded," said Lorenzo Doss, when asked about his official visit this weekend to Tulane. A senior at local Catholic school and football powerhouse St. Augustine, Doss was joined on the visit by Devon Breaux (Donaldsonville), Lazedrick Thompson (St. Charles Catholic) and Jordan Batiste (Lutcher). Breaux and Thompson have been pledged to the Green Wave for months, and Batiste committed on Sunday. "There's chemistry and we haven't played a down of football together yet," said Doss, who is athletic enough to suit up on either side of the ball (WR or DB) in college. "We socialized and saw a few places in New Orleans during the visit. I kinda knew Batiste would commit based on some things that were said." What does Doss think about new head coach Curtis Johnson? "He's cool," said Doss. "Cool as can be. He keeps it real with the players. I remember when Tulane was still looking for a head coach. All of the commits were texting each other and telling each other to stay committed; we're glad that we did." "We're looking to make a big impact on the football team with this recruiting class. My host on the visit was Matt Bailey. He's a cool guy and I knew him from before. He talked about academics and athletics and gave good advice." Doss will keep in shape with track and baseball. "Last year I ran the 4 X 100, 4 X 200, 4 X 400 and open 400," he said. "We made it to state in the three relays." Doss has a positive outlook for the future. "Tulane fans should stay tuned in for the football season," he said.
