"DaVaughn Thornton, the tight end, was my host. We played pool and ate. We ate so much that I got tired of eating, and I thought I'd never say that. The field was nice. I was shown plans for what they want to do to their stadium. They have a 250 million dollar project going on; they're putting all of the football stuff in one spot and adding 7,000 seats."
What did the staff discuss with Hall?
"Coach (Jon) Embree talked about early playing time," he said. "They didn't press me to commit but they beat around the bush a little. They're recruiting one more DB and are trying to hold off until they find out what I'm going to do."
What's next on Hall's agenda?
"Indiana is talking about early playing time and I just started talking to Arizona today. Tulane hired Lionel Washington as the defensive backs coach and defensive coordinator, and I like that he coached and played in the NFL."
Hall has a teammate - RB Lazedrick Thompson - who is committed to Tulane.
"I haven't talked with Lazedrick about Tulane but I will soon," he said.
ULM is still under consideration.
"I just got off the phone with Coach (Bryan) Applewhite at ULM," said Hall. "I'm supposed to talk with him again later."
Hall's offer sheet includes tenders from Colorado, North Texas, ULM and more. He says Indiana and Arizona haven't pulled the trigger.
"I'm not sure if Tulane has offered," Hall continued. "They want me to come for a visit this weekend. They did say Jordan Batiste was just waiting for me to commit so he could, too."
Batiste committed to the Green Wave yesterday. A mid-year enrollee, the Lutcher cornerback begins classes tomorrow.
Hall and Thompson sparked St. Charles Catholic to a 15-0 dream season in 2011. The Comets claimed the Class 3A state title with a 9-8 win over Amite in the Superdome last month.
