Florida 'backer visiting Kansas this weekend

By announcing the hiring of Demontie Cross as the program's linebackers coach Thursday, the Jayhawks now have a position coach in place as they prepare to host arguably the top linebacker on their board for a weekend official - Tampa (FL) Berkeley Prep standout Schyler Miles.

A 6-foot-2, 225-pound inside linebacker, Schyler Miles certainly has no shortage of quality options to consider when selecting a collegiate home.

With offers on the table from the likes of Cincinnati, Florida, North Carolina State, West Virginia and others, he has already taken official visits to Gainesvilla, Fla., Morgantown, W.V. and South Bend, Ind.

This weekend, he'll trip to Kansas for an official visit with the Jayhawks. Head Coach Charlie Weis made the athletic linebacker a priority virtually as soon as he hit the recruiting trail following his formal introduction.

As a senior in 2011, Miles racked up 123 total tackles, including 60 solos, and four sacks. He also had four forced fumbles.
