"It all started when I went from playing defensive end to offensive line," said La'Allen Clark. "With the depth we had, I had to work for a starting spot over the seniors and juniors. "It was tough at first. I had to learn my stance and all the plays. After I got used to it, it came easy for me. Against Southern Lab, I was kinda hyped, because it's a rival, but when it came to Redemptorist and Parkview Baptist, I started getting nervous. My brother (Larry Clark) had been a starter since his sophomore year; he got in my head, telling me, 'Don't worry about it. Everything's going to be alright. It's just another opponent.'" Next year, Clark expects to return to his right tackle spot on the offensive line. "I might have to go both ways," he said. According to Clark, he'll likely make the move to defensive tackle at some point in the future. For now, though, he can look back with satisfaction at a job well done on the o-line in 2011. "I feel like I accomplished something that not many sophomores do," said Clark. Scotlandville should make a repeat appearance in the playoffs this year. "Our whole defense returns except for Henry Taylor, the linebacker," said Clark. And only a couple of starters on the offensive side of the ball will be lost to graduation. Which colleges are on Clark's wish list? "Texas A&M, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Missouri...that's about it," he said. "It really doesn't matter as long as I get to college."
