There is a lot of news coming down the stretch in 2012 and we have plenty of junior day notes for this weekend as well.

Later Decisions For Illinois Prospects
Chicago Simeon five-star offensive tackle Jordan Diamond will make his commitment public on February 3rd, two days after Signing Day, according to his family.

The 6'6, 290-lb Diamond will announce at 7pm (Central) at Simeon. He is currently on an official visit at Arkansas, and has taken officials to Ohio State, Auburn and Michigan.

Fellow Illinois prospect Anthony Standifer could also make a late decision. The 6'1, 180-lb cornerback from Crete-Monee narrowed his choices down to Notre Dame, Boise State and Pittsburgh, but may not be able to take the last of his officials until after Signing Day. In addition, Illinois, whose coaching staff had offered him when they were at Toledo, has also jumped back into the picture.

According to his family, Boise State was in-home earlier in the week and the session went well. He will visit the Broncos officially next weekend.

Today, he is on his official visit at Notre Dame along with touted junior teammate Laquon Treadwell, a wide receiver who holds an Irish offer. In addition, Scout has also learned that Cretin Derham Hall (Minn.) junior wide receiver James Onwualu is also visiting the Irish today. He currently holds five offers, but not one from Notre Dame.

Wilson Adds Offers
Northwestern commit Eric Wilson, in my opinion, one of the more under valued prospects in the Midwest, has added several new offers.

A source close to the Redford Thurston (Mich.) product tells us Illinois, Syracuse and Oregon all offered. Illinois' staff had previously offered Wilson at Toledo.

The source also said that while the Oregon offer "raised some eyebrows," Wilson would be sticking with his commitment to the Wildcats. Ranked as a wide receiver, Wilson may be first tried at safety when he gets to Evanston.

Big Ten Quick Hits

Northwestern: Lincoln Way-West (Ill.) junior offensive tackle Colin McGovern is visiting Evanston this weekend. The 6'7, 280-lber holds a Wildcat offer, currently his only offer. He was one of the recent standouts at the Core6 Winter Showcase.
Ohio State: According to his family, Joliet Catholic Academy (Ill.) running back Ty Isaac had Buckeye head coach Urban Meyer in his school this week. Isaac has a Buckeye offer and they are battling Michigan, Notre Dame and others for possibly the top junior in the Midwest. Isaac has both Buckeye and Wolverine fans in his family, so this could turn out to be a classic Big Ten battle.
Michigan: Aforementioned Colin McGovern says he will visit Michigan soon too. The Lincoln Way West offensive lineman has had Wolverine coaches drop into his school during contact periods and hopes to check out Ann Arbor in the near future. Additionally, I hear a safety out of Minnesota, Malik Rucker, has been invited to junior day.
Michigan State: Two prospects from the Badger State are slated to attend an upcoming MSU junior day. Northland Pines running back Austin Ramesh (6-1/221) and Mukwanago defensive end Nathan Tanguay (6-5/240) have both been invited by the Spartans and are expected to attend.
Illinois: The Illini recently offered Indianapolis Ben Davis safety Antonio Allen. The hard hitting 5'10, 190-lber also added Indiana to a list that includes Purdue, Cincinnati and Kentucky.
Iowa: One more addition to the Hawkeyes' February 5th junior day is Brownsburg (Ind.) wide receiver Chase Dutra, a 6'2, 200-lb athlete receiving interest from across the country.
Indiana: Loaded junior day for IU tomorrow, especially from in-state. Warren Central is sending three: LB Tim Kimbrough, CB Tre Moore and OL Dwayne Brown. Also expected are Indianapolis Cathedral WR Sampson Levingston, Heritage Christian WR/DB Anthony Warrum, North Central DT Darius Latham, and Evansville Harrison WR Aaron Killebrew. One out of state prospect slated to attend is Canton (Mich.) OL Cameron Dillard.
Wisconsin: Barbourville (Ky.) Knox Central junior safety/wide receiver Jeff Canady tells Scout he has been invited to Wisconsin's junior day and will likely attend. The 6'1, 202-lb prospect had over 1,900 all purpose yards and 22 total touchdowns as a junior. He also grabbed five interceptions on defense.
Minnesota: The Gophers have a junior day this weekend and one of the top prospects we know will be there is Brookfield (Wisc.) defensive end Chikwe Obasih. Obasih currently holds a Purdue offer and performed well at the US Army Junior Combine.
Penn State: The Nittany Lions are the latest to offer Trotwood-Madison (Ohio) linebacker Michael McCray according to a source at the school. McCray, an Ohio State legacy, now has nine offers, including Tennessee, Syracuse, Illinois, Kentucky, and others.
Nebraska: The Cornhuskers offered Milton (WI) junior A.J. Natter earlier this week and the 6'5 defensive end says he will be at Nebraska junior day. He will likely be joined by another Wisconsin product, Northland Pines running back Austin Ramesh.
Purdue: A junior day invite when out to Dadeville (Ala.) defensive tackle Rod Crayton recently. Crayton has offers from LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Memphis and Florida Atlantic, and now the Boilermakers are looking to get in the game with this top young interior prospect.

Sleeper of the Week

Benet Academy (Ill.) junior defensive end Charles Melka is beginning to catch some eyes. He performed well at the recent Core 6 Winter Showcase and has a nice 6'5, 235-lb frame on him. Expect the college interest to continue to increase for him throughout the spring and summer.

Underclassman of the Week

Detroit Catholic Central (Mich.) sophomore defensive end Dylan Roney started all year for the Shamrocks, not easy to do at a young age, and has fielded early interest from Michigan, Michigan State, UCLA, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, North Carolina and Stanford.
