Stanton Visits Corvallis
Lakewood (Wash.) High tight end Dustin Stanton was one of the earliest commits in the 2012 Oregon State recruiting class. Stanton has been to Corvallis before, but took his official visit this weekend. "It was really fun," said Stanton. "My visit was a little shorter than the rest of guys because I was supposed to have a basketball game Friday. It got cancelled because of the snow, but I already had tickets for Saturday. It was a good time, good to be with everyone and hang out." Stanton had seen the typical campus tour before, but enjoyed the side of Corvallis the coaches and host Connor Hamlett showed him. "The night I missed they went bowling and paintballing, I heard that was fun," said Stanton. "They took us to different restaurants, campus tour and then we went to the basketball game against USC." "The game was really fun," said Stanton. "After the game we hung out with the guys and our hosts. Connor is an awesome guy, his roommates were cool too." Even with his recruiting process ending very early in the spring, the reality of college football is just setting in for the 6'6" 212lbs prospect . "It is, this weekend put it in perspective, it opened up my eyes," said Stanton. "It is coming up soon. It feels more official, more reality than dream."
