McGovern Talks Illini Junior Day

Lincoln Way-West (Ill.) junior OT Colin McGovern talks about his visit to Champaign, and we video of him from a recent showcase.

Lincoln Way West offensive tackle Colin McGovern is one of the top juniors in the Land of Lincoln, and the 6'7, 280-lber already has a Northwestern offer to show for it.

This weekend, he visited another in-state school, Illinois, to check in with new head coach Tim Beckman and their staff.

"The trip to Illinois was very cool and the coaches did seem interested," McGovern said. "I'm going to be heading down again sometime soon."

McGovern, who is also hearing from Michigan, West Virginia, Indiana, Purdue, Northern Illinois, and others, was supposed to visit Evanston as well, but was forced to reschedule that trip.

"With the weather on Friday, I wasn't able to make it up to Northwestern. We are planning on rescheduling that for sometime in February."

McGovern was one of the top performers at the recent Core 6 Winter Showcase.
