"I made a commitment to Washington State today," said Sale. "I called coach Simmons this morning. I talked to my parents last night and was ready to commit, but I thought it was too late."
It was the special bond that Sale formed with Simmons and the rest of the coaching staff that led him to commit.
"The coaching staff really had an impact on me," said Sale. "Even from high school and JC I couldn't really open up with my coaches, but with these coaches it was like talking to my friends… I was really comfortable. That probably had the biggest impact on me."
Sale had planned to take an official visit to Arizona State, but cancelled it before committing to the Cougars.
"I am just so excited, I wanted to get it off my mind," said Sale. "I went out there and loved it so much, that is where I want to be. I don't want to take any more trips, not taking a trip to ASU."
Sale is still enrolled in classes this semester, so Cougar fans will have to wait a little while to see him on campus.
"I'm taking classes this semester," said Sale. "I'll be up in May for the summer."
