But thanks to the early verbal of Corvallis (Ore.) offensive lineman Isaac Seumalo, and his subsequent monster senior year and stellar UnderArmour Game performance, the Beavers saw him get bumped from a four-star to a five-star, and the nation's top-ranked guard prospect.
Still, the Beavers had to sweat out an official visit to USC last weekend, which at the time, had Seumalo seriously contemplating a switch from the Beavers to USC.
But after taking an official visit to Oregon State this past weekend, Seumalo said he will be signing with the Beavers.
"I will be signing with Oregon State," said Seumalo in a text message.
Seumalo, the brother of current Beaver lineman Andrew Seumalo and son of defensive line coach Joe Seumalo, is the crown jewel of the Beavers class so far, and the highest rated prep prospect that Mike Riley has gotten a verbal from in his second tour with the Beavers.
