Carson (Calif.) wide receiver Darreus Rogers, who has been committed to USC since last January, spent the weekend visiting his other finalist, Arizona State.
“It was a really good trip,” explained Rogers. “I checked out the depth chart and learned more about their academics, which is what I really like about their program. Like at USC, they give you special attention and help you to be successful in school.”
Over the weekend, Rogers was hosted by true freshman quarterback, Michael Eubank.
“They have a great atmosphere out there,” commented Rogers. “It’s going to be hot, but I get to play football, so I can handle it.”
While on campus, Rogers had a chance to get to know the Sun Devils’ new staff.
“I really like their entire coaching staff. Especially, the wide receivers coach DelVaughn Alexander, he is great and head coach Todd Graham is wonderful. Their offensive coordinator, Mike Norvell is awesome. He is always really excited about everything,” said Rogers.
The weekend before Rogers was in Los Angeles for his official to USC. After having back-to-back official visits, Rogers says it’s down to USC and Arizona State.
“USC is still my number one right now, but I am just going over things with my family,” said Rogers.
At the end of the week Rogers will meet with coaches from both programs in order to finalize his decision.
“Arizona State is coming by for an in-home visit on Thursday. They are bringing their whole house. And on Friday, Coach (Kennedy) Polamalu and Coach (Ted) Gilmore will be coming over from USC,” explained Rogers. “I have just been a listener up until now, but come Thursday and Friday I am going to be asking a lot of questions, because this will probably be the last time I will see them before Signing Day.”
