South Bend Clay (Ind.) junior WR Wesley Thomas has his first one after a strong season.

South Bend Clay junior wide receiver Wesley Thomas is just starting to see his recruitment pick up, but it got going in a big way last night when he received his first scholarship offer.

"I just got offered by Central Michigan," he reported. "I've heard from Eastern Michigan and not too many others."

Thomas' coaches say they have fielded interest from Alabama, Indiana, Purdue and Michigan for their star wideout.

As a junior, the 6'0, 190-lb Thomas had 57 receptions, 965 yards and 16 touchdowns on his way to honorable mention All-State honors. Not bad for a guy who was seeing his first real varsity action.

"The year before I played, but I was kind of a sub," he explained.

Thomas says he is just beginning to think about the process, but did know a pair of schools he hopes to camp with.

"I like a lot of the MAC schools. I don't know for sure [about camps]. I was thinking about going to the Notre Dame camp and the camp at Central Michigan and that's about it."
