Football and marriage don't always mix. But in the case of Patrick Towles, football – specifically…
Towles talks championship and development
Patrick Towles led Highlands High (Ky.) to their fifth straight championship and his third as starting quarterback. But to reach that level time and time again, Towles saw himself improve in several areas. Highlands finished the season 15-0 and by winning the 4-A state championship. That was a feat that Towles takes great pride in. "It was awesome. It's a testament to how hard our coaches have worked. We did a lot of hard work when nobody was watching and it showed this season," said Towles. Towles improved individually as much as the team. "I think I improved so much. I got better in game management. I got a lot stronger, bigger and faster. I just learned to run with the ball or throw it out of bounds and not force it into double coverage," Towles said. Towles gave a lot the credit for his amazing 42-1 touchdown to interception ratio to his teammates. "I had a lot of great receivers. I had a lot of receivers bat down the bad passes. The offensive line gave me way too much time," Towles laughed. Towles signed with Kentucky on Signing Day and will join the Wildcats in June.
