Impresses Recruiters During May

Justin Russell might be the 2nd best player on his team at Lafayette (Ind.) Jefferson but he's still among the elite prep prospects in the Hoosier State.

Comments - Justin Russell is a prospect from the Hoosier State that saw his stock rise during the May Evaluation period.

Russell looked very good at the (Ann Arbor) Nike Camp in April and several college recruiters have said that Justin will be a prospect that they’ll keep a close eye on in 2003.

“I don’t have any offers yet,” said Justin Russell. “My favorites are Michigan, Illinois, Purdue, Ball State and Stanford.

“I’m going to be camping this summer at Notre Dame, Purdue, Illinois, Michigan, Ball State and Western Michigan.”

Russell had 861 yards receiving and scored 10 touchdowns as a junior. He also had 35 tackles, 10 pass deflections and five interceptions on the defensive side of the ball in 2002.

Justin Russell also letters in basketball and baseball.
