Committed But Looking
Austin Golson is a 4-star OT prospect expected to shine during his senior year at Prattville HS in the state of Alabama. Golson has been committed to FSU for a while and says his pledge is still solid to the Seminoles. "Of course I still really like Florida State," Golson said. "Actually, it's funny because most people just think my teammate Justin (Shanks) wanted me to commit to FSU with him but I was committed there even before him. I like a lot of things about FSU and I'm excited to go there for Junior Day on the 25th of this month (February)." Golson says one of the reasons he committed to the 'Noles is his strong trust in coach Trickett. Trickett is a big factor in the solidity of Golson's commitment. "I think coach Trickett shoots straight with me. He was a reason why I liked it there in the first place and I just keep getting to know him more and more. That helps me know it can be home." Golson stresses the importance of his commitment and staying strong with his word. He says he doesn't want to be a player that switches around. Still, he understands the cruciality of making sure he is committing to the right school so he may take some other visits. "I have offers from Auburn and Clemson that interest me a lot. I might check them out and go on a couple more visits. I would still say my commitment to FSU is strong but I just want to check some other programs out. I don't have dates set officially for those other visits."
