Sam Pettway talks recruiting

Sam Pettway, safety from Mobile-UMS-Wright, Ala., had a tremendous junior campaign which earned First Team All-State for his performance. Andrew Bone has the latest news about his recruitiment.

"I don’t have any offers yet," said Sam Pettway. "I am starting to receive interest from Georgia, Southern Miss and Louisiana Tech. I haven’t been to any junior days yet.

"I am keeping my options open. I really like Southern Miss and Mississippi State. I am also considering Tennessee, South Carolina and Kentucky."

The 6-foot, 175-pound prospect recorded an impressive 159 tackles last season, six interceptions and three blocked punts. He added 602 kickoff return yards and three touchdowns.

"I am very athletic," said Pettway. "My devotion and love for the game are also strengths of mine. I am very consistent. I can help come up against the run. I can say my tackling is very good. I definitely want to improve 40 speed and be more explosive."
