Miami Northwestern is annually one of the top talent-producing high schools in the state of Florida, and the Bulls are loaded once again for next season.
One of the more underrated players is linebacker Darius Redmond, and the 6-foot-1, 205-pound, athlete stood out recently at the South Florida Express 7on7 tryout.
"I started last year at Northwestern and had a very good year," Redmond stated. "I don't have any offers yet, but I definitely want to play college football. I'm hoping to get noticed by playing on this 7on7 team, and I was happy to make the team."
Redmond was one of over 175 Miami-area players that competed for a spot on the famed South Florida Express team. His speed and athleticism stood out during the tryout, and he is expected to see considerable playing time at linebacker. He is also looking forward to his senior season at Northwestern.
"My strength is my tackling ability, and I can run to the football," he explained. "My coverage skills are good, and playing 7on7 will help that area. I want to work on my footwork and getting my drops down in pass coverage."
