Shumpert Holding Three from the SEC
Ashton Shumpert profile "I have been to Ole Miss and Mississippi State for junior day and I am supposed to be going over to Alabama this weekend," said Shumpert. "Mississippi State was pretty good, but it would have been better if it wasn't so cold." Despite the chilly weather, Shumpert was able to learn more about what the Bulldogs have to offer. "Me and my mom went over there and we got to tour the campus," said Shumpert. "I got to talk to Coach Dan Mullen and he told me that they really wanted me over there. "They want me to come in and play running back. He said I had the chance to play early, so I liked that." Now back in his native Fulton, Mississippi, Shumpert will soon be turning his full attention towards spring practice at Itawamba AHS. "Most of the players that were here when I played in the ninth grade are gone," said Shumpert. "We will have to see how things are going to be in the spring. "I am ready to get back out there and get to work. "I wanted to be back here for my senior year, so I want to have a big year." With offers from Alabama, Mississippi State and Ole Miss in hand, Shumpert has some thinking to do. "I am going to take my time with everything and probably make a decision after the season," said Shumpert. "I haven't really thought about making a decision yet."
