Yesterday was a special day for Josh Cox, as the 6'0, 200-lb junior from Warren De La Salle landed his first scholarship offer from Central Michigan.
"Oh man, I was happy and at the same time, at a loss for words," he explained. "I called the coach after sending my transcripts in and he told me to call back at three and I called back and he put me on with Coach [Enos], who told me I had an offer."
Cox visited Mount Pleasant recently and says he liked what he saw.
"It was nice. Campus was really cool. They're nice and all seem like they have the same goal to get to. It seems like they're working on it. They started some freshmen this past year and had a good season for how many young kids they started."
Cox is also hearing from Bowling Green, Illinois, Cincinnati, Michigan State and others. This summer, he'll go on a college summer camp tour which includes Maryland, Virginia Tech and others.
Soon, he'll visit a couple of other programs who are interested.
"I visited Bowling Green this past weekend, and coming up, I'm supposed to go to Toledo and Illinois."
