McGee Loves the Bears
Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian offensive lineman Robert McGee left California's campus impressed after attending their Junior Day. "It was amazing," he said. "We toured the campus and facilities and they old us about recruiting process and all that comes with it." With academics standing out on his list of college criteria, McGee was happy to hear California's track record. "They told us statistics that California has a nintey-six percent graduation rate. People who don't end up playing in the NFL will still come out with a Berkley degree and that's something of admiration," McGee said. McGee was also heavily impressed by, Jim Michalczik, the Golden Bears offensive coordinator and offensive line coach. "Coach Michalczik coached with the Oakland Raiders and I was just really impressed by him. He told us that he offers late because he likes to do a lot of research. He's old school like that, but he's had a lot of guys go pro," said McGee. McGee, who is listed at 6'3, 315 pounds, is also hearing from Boston College and Colorado. "Boston College just has great academics and a prestigious history with offensive linemen, it's called O-Line University! And I was born in Colorado and have lots of family there." However, McGee was confident enough in his experience to name California on top. "California is probably my number one right now," said McGee.
