Florida RB is one to watch
Daryl Chestnut split time with another Division 1 running back prospect (Lorenzo Woodley) as a junior but made the most of his opportunities. "I finished the year with 562 yards and 10 touchdowns on just 44 carries," Chestnut said. "I made the most of the chances given to me. We have a great backfield and we each do different things." Chestnut, 5-foot-9 and 190 pounds, is quickly emerging as one of the top running back prospects in South Florida for the 2013 class. "I have offers from FIU, West Virginia, Florida State, and Western Kentucky," he said. "My top five right now would be Florida State, West Virginia, Miami, Oklahoma State, and Alabama." Chestnut said the offer that his him most excited is from the Noles. "I went to Florida State for Junior Day a few weeks back and they offered me," he said. "I was very excited. They're a great school with great coaches." It's another instate power that Chestnut grew up following, though. "I grew up a UM fan," he said. "I've always liked them but they're not really showing much interest, compared to the other schools. I wish they would, though. It's a great program and I'd like to stay close to home. I'm a momma's boy." Chestnut claims a 2.5 GPA in the classroom.
