Despite playing at the 1A/2A level, King's play in a very competitive conference. The Cascade Conference has produced Pac-12 level players the last two seasons in Tani Tupou (Washington) and Dustin Stanton (Oregon State), and while it may be premature to put quarterback Billy Green in that category right away, some Pac-12 schools already know about him.

Green, the 6-foot-2, 185-pound signal-caller that proceeded UW walk-on Thomas Vincent, has done a great job for the Knights. In 2011, he threw for nearly 2400 yards and had a touchdown/interception ratio of 40/8. He also ran for four touchdowns.

King's Head Coach Jim Shapiro told this week that Green was named the co-Top Gun MVP of the 2012 FBU Los Angeles camp this past weekend alongside a quarterback from heralded program Oaks Christian. Because of his play, Green was invited to the regional Elite 11 camp in Oakland later this spring.

Mixing some business in with the camp, Green and his family unofficially visited USC and UCLA. At USC, the Trojans' quarterbacks coach and recruiting coordinator spent a few hours showing the Greens around, answering questions and finding out more about Billy. According to Shapiro, the USC coaches already knew about Green and are expressing interest.

At UCLA, the Greens were shown around and spoke to new head coach Jim Mora, as well as assistant coach Marques Tuiasosopo.

Shapiro said that Arizona State is 'hot on his trail' and also Portland State, Eastern Washington and Montana have also been in touch. Coach Shap said that Green is a pure pocket passer that grew up in Texas before moving to King's for the ninth grade, and last spring the Knights went toe-to-toe with Max Browne and the Skyline Spartans during a 7-7 tournament at Washington.
