On Tuesday night, Jayme Otomewo talked with Colorado’s offensive coordinator, Eric Bieniemy.
After the call, the safety from Los Angles (Calif.) Dorsey reported he had just reeled in his first offer from the University of Colorado.
“I was excited and surprised when I received the offer,” said Otomewo. “It was all of a sudden and kind of out of nowhere, since that was the first time I had spoken to Coach Bieniemy.”
In addition to the excitement of reeling in his first offer, hearing from the Buffs also seemed to relieve some stress for the Dons’ defensive back.
“The recruiting process has been a little stressful so far, because I kept seeing all these people get offered. I have been talking to a lot of coaches, so I was wondering when I would get my first offer,” Otomewo said. “Now that I have one I feel better.”
After Bieniemy’s phone call, the 6’2, 185-pound safety says he has some work to do in order to ensure he ends up at the right school.
“I am now going to start researching their program,” explained Otomewo. “I want to go to a school that is very interested in me as a student-athlete. I am very focused on academics, which I take very seriously. I am looking for a great school that is well rounded, with a great football program and campus.
“I would like to stay close to home, but I want to keep my options open.”
Otomewo named the other programs that have been recruiting him.
“Boise State, USC, UCLA, California, Stanford, Oregon State, and Oklahoma State.”
