The rankings in the state of Alabama will update on a monthly basis. We review new film, see players in different camps and combines, and talk with coaches across the state. Scholarship offers are not the only determining factor.

The Top 25 in the state of Alabama was released after signing day in February. The Scout 300 list is released only a few times throughout the year. A player might do well during the spring, but may not make it into the Scout 300 until August. New players, more film evaluation, coach recommendations, etc. are routine in the rankings. A high majority of Scout 300 members in August remain until signing day.

The rankings of in-state players has changed a little in this edition. More than 60 highlight films of juniors are updated on Scout.com. The number of film reviews alone will likely double by this time next month.

The list will increase by 10 players each month starting in April and end with 'Bone's Best: Top 60' (pre-season) in July when the majority of summer camps and combines have concluded.

March: Top 25

1. Dee Liner (Muscle Shoals, Defensive End)
2. O.J. Howard (Autauga Academy, Tight End)
3. Ardarius Stewart (Fultondale, Athlete)
4. Grant Hill (Huntsville, Offensive Tackle)
5. Austin Golson (Prattville, Offensive Tackle)
6. Jason Smith (Mobile-McGill-Toolen, Athlete)
7. Jeremy Johnson (Montgomery-Carver, Quarterback)
8. Earnest Robinson (Pinson Valley, Wide Receiver)
9. Deon Johnson (Spanish Fort, Wide Receiver)
10. Rod Crayton (Dadeville, Defensive Tackle)
11. Bradley Bozeman (Handley, Offensive Guard)
12. Jarren Johnson (Jackson, Wide Receiver)
13. Cameron Toney (Huntsville, Linebacker)
14. Kamryn Melton (Dothan, Cornerback)
15. DeAndre Woods (Clay-Chalkville, Wide Receiver)
16. Cameron Luper (Auburn, Athlete)
17. Marquez White (Dothan-Northview, CB)
18. Ulric Jones (Oxford, Defensive Tackle)
19. Nate Andrews (Fairhope, Wide Receiver)
20. Carl Lee (McGill-Toolen, Wide Receiver)
21. James Cox (Tuscaloosa-Northridge, Wide Receiver)
22. Jordan Huff (Mobile-St. Paul’s, Running Back)
23. Jonathan Ford (New Hope, Running Back)
24. Tevin Watters (Thomasville, Athlete)
25. B.J. Hammond (Gadsden City, Wide Receiver)

The new additions to the Top 25 include Marquez White and Jonathan Ford. These two are impressive athletes, and Ford will really push for the top running back in the state. Ford recently added a scholarship offer from Mississippi State.

There was a change at the top with Dee Liner grabbing the top spot. The original rankings were more 1A and 1B. Howard was given the edge after returning from watching both prospects at the Under Armour combine in Orlando. He is still an impressive specimen and one of the top tight end prospects in the country.

Liner has great his size, speed and athleticism. He has been scouted numerous times, and his complete 2011 highlights are making the rounds. The Auburn commitment had 17 sacks last season and the current No. 1 prospect in the state.

Ardarius Stewart is another player who can challenge for the No. 1 spot. He scored 50 touchdowns in 2011 and a vicious tackler on defense. He can easily become the pre-season favorite for Mr. Football if he puts up same type stats produced as a junior.

Grant Hill barely edged out Austin Golson for the top offensive lineman in the state at this time. Hill is 6-foot-6, 310-pounds and plays very light on his feet. He picked up a new scholarship offer this week from Clemson.

Jason Smith jumped in the top 10. His film speaks for itself. He is a gamechanger. He is electric with the ball in his hands and has the speed to score from anywhere on the field. He wants to play quarterback on the next level, but his best future position is likely slot receiver or cornerback.

Until next month when the list will reveal 'Bone's Best Top 30' in Alabama. Stay tuned....
