Chevis Picks Up Tech Offer
The offers keep coming for 4-Star middle linebacker, Reggie Chevis, from Sharpstown High School in Houston, Texas. Today Texas Tech called the talented prospect to tell him that they were ready to offer him a spot on the team. "It's a blessing," Chevis said. "I'm very excited. I'm thrilled about the whole situation. I'm still shocked and enjoying the moment. Coach Chad Scott (Running Backs) called me and said that they wanted to offer me a full scholarship. I've been waiting on this one for a while. I'm happy it came through. Texas Tech is one of the schools that I want to go to." Chevis, who already has seven offers, said that he realized Texas Tech was a place he could fit in at after visiting Lubbock, Texas recently. "I liked the atmosphere when I visited," Chevis said. "I like how I was treated like family on my visit. I like what they have to offer me in terms of playing. They said I would have a chance to compete for a starting job. All the coaches seem down to earth and understanding. They have a very good program. I feel like I could bring a new size and swag that could change Texas Tech football." Despite Chevis' excitement over a offer from the Red Raiders at this point he is still keeping his options open. The 6'1 245-pound prospect plans to visit LSU—another school that has offered him—this weekend. "I'm just sitting back enjoying the recruiting process," Chevis said. "I've been to LSU before. I've had my eyes open. I'm just visiting them again after the offer." Chevis also plans to visit Rice next Saturday.
