Scout.com recently went to Bellevue High School, and when you take a look at the program that has won four straight Washington Class 3A football titles, one thing is clear; they supplement great coaching and a great team ethos with great talent. And one of the top recruits for the 2013 class - not only in the Seattle area but in the entire state of Washington - is Bellevue LB Sean Constantine.
An all-league performer as a junior, Constantine was the Wolverines' anchor in the middle of their defense, a true sideline-to-sideline presence that has a nose for the ball and enough ability to get it when he finds it.
"I just think his hard-nosed attitudeā¦he has a great motor," Matt Razore, Bellevue's defensive backs coach and the one that takes care of a lot of the college recruiting duties for the Wolverines, told Scout.com about the 6-foot-2, 225-pound Constantine. "He's always around the ball and he's a really big force in the middle of the field."
So what have colleges been saying about Constantine and why he's so recruitable? "Other than his size and strength, his toughness and he's never been hurt - knock on wood," Razore added. "He's just that prototypical middle linebacker you want in there that just sets the tone."
Constantine has two early scholarship offers - from
Washington
and
UCLA
- and isn't in a hurry to decide his future any time soon. "I don't have any real thoughts about (the recruiting process) right now," he said. "I just want to find the best place for me and make sure I get along with the coaches."
He added that he's not sure where he'll camp at this summer, deferring to the Bellevue coaches when it comes to making sure he gets out there to boost his recruiting stock. But truth be told, Constantine's film is rock solid, so more colleges - especially west coast schools - should be knocking down his door any day now with offers.
