Jaquan Johnson is a 5-foot-10, 175 pound athlete out of Miami (FL) Killian and he is a natural athlete. Scout saw him shine at the New Level Athletics 7v7 in Georgia recently and he is talented.
He created a buzz down in Florida as a freshman in 2011 he is on the path to be a top recruit in 2015.
"I can play anywhere, but I feel most natural at safety. I make plays back there. I can run, I play all over, and I am like a hawk back there. I hit and intercept passes," Johnson said.
Running back is an option too.
"I see holes and I get there quickly because of my speed. I like to have the ball in my hands because I know I can make plays at any time that way."
Lamar Miller had the ball in his hands at Killian and Miami and he was successful at both. Johnson has followed the former Killian star for years.
"I have known Lamar Miller growing up and we have talked some. He played at Killan like I do and I really like him a lot. I have watched him play for years and he is someone I listen to and look up to."
Like Louis, the freshman from the Sunshine State likes the 'Canes. They are one of Johnson's top schools.
"I like Miami, Florida State, and Alabama right now," said the speedster from Florida.
He talks about his top three.
"I like the history at Miami. I like guys that came through there like Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, and guys like that.
"Lamarcus Joyner is one of my favorite players and he is at FSU, so I like that. I like what I see in FSU too.
"Alabama has a sick defense and they play hard and fast."
No offers yet this early for Johnson, but expect them to come early for him. He plays the game with ease and he has that toughness you look for in a football player.
He knows he is talented and he wants everyone to know what he can do.
"I want to be the best football prospect in the country. I am going to work hard to get there. I have a high football I.Q. to go with my speed and ability, so I think I can be that guy in a few years."
