Q & A with Peoria (Ariz.) Liberty quarterback Tyler Rogers

Scout.com: What were your stats/honors from last season?
Tyler Rogers:
"156 of 251, 63% completion percentage, 2,456 yards, 30 TDs, 11 INTs, 116 QB rating. MaxPreps POW, team MVP, All-State honorable mention, 2nd team all district and ESPN honorable mention for POW (30-38, 79% completion, 422 yards, 5 TDs)."

What is your official height and weight?
"6-3, 187."

What is your greatest football memory?
"My greatest football memory would have to be the game versus. Desert Edge. They're our rivals and we were down 14 points in the 4th quarter with 8 minutes left in the game. We scored, got a three and out, scored again, then converted the 2 point conversion for the win."

What are your goals for the upcoming season?
"My goals for the upcoming season are winning state, going undefeated, throw for 3,000+ yards, 30+ TDs, and run for over 1,000 yards."

How are you preparing for the upcoming season? Will you attend any camps this summer?
"Right now, I'm in track working on my speed and I have a weight training class. I also throw twice a week with my QB coach and receivers. This summer, my team is competing in 7 passing league tournaments. As of right now, I'm not sure which camps I'll be attending, but Purdue's QB camp this April is a maybe."

What aspect of your game have you really worked hard to improve? What area would you like to keep improving on?
"Last year, my 40 time was a 4.99 electric. I ran track and went to all the speed camps and got it down to a 4.79 electric in the summer. I need to keep improving on everything; footwork, reading coverages, accuracy, arm strength, speed, agility, and leadership."

Who are some of your teammates that people need to watch out for?
"Kyle Harms shared a three running back rotation last year and didn't get many touches. But, he definitely made the most out of each one. One game, he had 4 carries for 180 yards and 2 TDs. He also runs a 4.5 forty. Caleb Robinson is a WR and has worked his tail off. Very athletic, great hands and routes. He'll definitely be my go to guy this year."

Name one teammate you really respect and why?
"Gage Gipson is my left OT. He's a beast on the field and weight room. He made the 1100 pound club last summer and is bound to make the 1200 this summer. He's very humble and selfless. He works hard and leads by example."

What are your goals regarding playing football in college?
"My goals for college football are being a 2+ year starter, win a national championship, win the Heisman, and be the best QB in college football history."

Who is currently recruiting you? Do you have any offers yet?
"Purdue and San Jose State are really the only ones that have actually talked to me. I've received multiple letters from other colleges, however; Arkansas, Air Force, Yale, Princeton, NAU, UTEP, and Florida State University."

Would you consider staying in state to play in college?

2.) Ohio State
3.) Purdue
4.) Arkansas
5.) FSU

Who is the best player you ever played against? Why?

What are your strengths and weaknesses as a player?
"I like to think I have a lot of strengths including arm strength, accuracy, footwork, good decision making, leadership, scrambling, and throwing on the run. But, there's always room for improvement and I can and will improve on all aspects of my game. I dont feel i have any weaknesses, I just need to keep improving."

"Peyton Manning because he can make every possible throw, he's a great leader, and he commands his team and the line of scrimmage. Also, he can pick defenses apart."

Football is my passion."
