Chicago Harlan offensive lineman Ki-jana Evans visited Eastern Michigan on Saturday and came away with his first scholarship offer, a moment he will definitely remember.
"When he told me, I felt relief now that I got the first offer out of the way. I know that I'll have somewhere to go," he said.
The 6'5, 280-lb Evans says he enjoyed his time in Ypsilanti.
"When we watched practice and the coaches were coaching, I looked at my own position and I loved the way Coach Anderson was coaching, because to me, it reminded me a lot of the way my high school coaches, so I know that I'm being coached the right way and I can come in and show my talent."
A high school tackle, Evans says the Eagles are recruiting him as a guard. He has been busy visiting other schools and says a couple of new ones have jumped in.
"I went to Illinois for a spring practice. I'm going to Central Michigan this weekend and Northern Illinois on April 14 and I'm going to Arkansas in July. I've been hearing more from Georgia Tech and Arkansas lately."
