Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame 2015 quarterback Tyler Hilinski has had the unique opportunity to learn from his older brother Kelly Hilinski, the Knights' starting quarterback.
"I've learned everything from Kelly. He's taught me reads and just how to be a better quarterback and still be a good person. It's great watching him going through the recruiting process; there's a lot to learn from, to know what he did both right and wrong so I can learn from that," he said.
Both brothers have been working out at B2G Instinct Training and Tyler has had the opportunity to quarterback his own 7on7 team.
"B2G has taught me the five-step, the three-step, all the drops and the timing with all the great receivers they have out here. It's making me a better quarterback," he said.
The 6'3", 180 lb. quarterback, who thinks he still has a few inches left to grow, stands out in his own right.
"I think my greatest strengths at the position are probably my arm and my accuracy; I'm deadly with my accuracy," he said.
Even though he has one season left to back up big brother, he's still putting in all the hard effort to improve and has a busy off-season with training and visits.
"Every morning at 6am we have lifting at school for about an hour and then every weekend we go to B2G and work out. This summer, our family will be going to visit Oklahoma, Stanford, and to the East Coast. We'll see what colleges we'll go to there," he said.
How does the younger Hilinski feel about soon taking over the quarterback reigns?
"I'm very excited," he laughs.
