Mishawaka Marian (Ind.) class of 2014 offensive lineman Kirk Barron is about to take his first unofficial visit to see a Big Ten program.

Kirk Barron is a sophomore offensive lineman beginning to emerge. The 6'3, 282-lber from Mishawaka Marian is ready to show what kind of prospect he is as he has a busy camp schedule planned for the next few months.

"I have the NUC 5-star Showcase in Atlanta along with an IMG showcase in April," Barron says, "then the NFTC in Columbus and I'm going to Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, Arkansas, Michigan State, and Auburn's camps."

Barron says he has not visited any schools yet, but that is about to change.

"I plan on visiting all of those schools either this year or the following year. I'm going to Iowa April 7 for an unofficial visit."

What he has done is received interest from some of the nation's top programs.

"Sadly, I couldn't make it out to Pittsburgh, Nebraska and Oregon, who have also shown interest. I like Miami, South Carolina, Michigan, Florida and Florida State also though, so I am starting to contact these schools along with them contacting me."
