CB Averett Has Four-offer Day

It was a special Wednesday for Woodbury (N.J.) High cornerback Anthony Averett as four BCS schools extended offers to push his total past a dozen. Check out the schools to offer, and his junior highlights.

Since winning the 55 meter indoor state title, Anthony Averett's offer total has sky-rocketed.

His biggest day came Wednesday when four schools -- Iowa, Pittsburgh, Tennessee and Wisconsin -- offered, pushing his total to 13.

The 6-foot, 175-pound Averett ran the 55 meters in 6.46 seconds to win the state title, and since then he grabbed nine offers, including ones from Alabama, West Virginia and Penn State.

He is also the indoor state champ in the long jump with his best being 23 feet, 7 3/4 inches.
