Badie Names Favorite
Minnesota and North Texas have both offered junior RB Sherman Badie, who led John Curtis in rushing last year. North Texas was Badie's most recent offer. "At first, they were just sending me letters," said Badie. "North Texas was saying I'm the best running back in Louisiana, and that they're really into me. "They said they were going to offer soon, and they did. Coach (Justin) Gaines is a cool guy. I enjoy talking to him. He said that they want to see me in the NFL in three or four years. He said their campus is huge, and they're playing LSU in the first game next season." What else did Gaines say to sell Badie on North Texas? "He said they're located in the part of Texas that's fun," said Badie. "He knows we're known for seafood in New Orleans and Louisiana, and he said they have all that out there." So which program is Badie's current leader? "Tulane is my favorite," he said. "I like the formations they used in their spring game. They keep running the (same) backs if they're having success. "I think Tulane will offer next and then UL." Badie is set for the fast-approaching district track meet, where he'll run the 100 and the 4 X 100 and 4 X 200 relays. Badie is expected to battle Carver's Eugene Brazley for first place in the 100 meters. Brazley is an Ole Miss football commit (at RB).
