Playing for one of Ohio’s top prep programs has given Cincinnati (OH) St. Xavier wide receiver Trey Kilgore the opportunity to test his skills. While several programs are showing interest in the 6-foot-2, 180-pound Kilgore, three have offered.
“I recently received offers from Kent State, Akron and Miami Ohio,” said Kilgore. “I’ve also been on a couple of visits to Illinois, Cincinnati and Northwestern.
While neither the Wildcats nor Bearcats have offered, both have told Kilgore they’ll be watching him closely.
“Northwestern and Cincinnati are really interested and both want me to stay in touch with them,” said Kilgore. “Northwestern will be coming down here to Cincinnati in about a month I think to talk with my coach and watch me work out a little bit.
“Cincinnati said they want me to keep close to them and keep coming up and building a connection because they feel I’m a good prospect for them and they want to keep that relationship for now.”
Recently Kilgore visited Northwestern and came away impressed.
“Northwestern was a really good visit and I like them a lot,” said Kilgore. “They practice hard and were really up tempo. I also like their campus a lot and got a chance to meet all of their coaches and hangout with a lot of the players. They all seemed very cool and were very welcoming to me as they showed me around.”
Another program Kilgore visited was Illinois for a recent Junior Day.
“I liked the Illinois campus,” said Kilgore. “Especially their field and weight room as they have the biggest one sport weight room in the country. My visit was for their Junior Day so I didn’t get a chance to see them practice because they hadn’t started spring practice yet.”
A short distance from home and a program several former teammates attend is Miami University. Kilgore visited the RedHawks and came away impressed.
“I visited Miami and watched practice and found the practice to be up tempo and everything was fast paced,” said Kilgore. “The people were great and they were working hard.”
