Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) Los Osos quarterback Stephen Johnson (6-3, 185), is hoping the spring will bring his first offer his way.
The majority of the schools Johnson is hearing from are from the Ivy League, but he’s also hoping for some Pac-12 attention.
“I’m hearing from a lot of Ivy League schools like Harvard, Cornell, Penn and Princeton,” said Johnson. “Cornell, Penn and Princeton are heavily recruiting me.”
Johnson, though, has a school he’d love to get an opportunity to play at.
“I really like UCLA,” said Johnson. “I work out with Richard Brehaut and he went to my high school. We have the same quarterback coach and I’ve worked out with Richard a lot this spring throwing the ball.”
Wherever Johnson goes, football will come second, behind academics.
“Academics are really important for me and in my family,” said Johnson. “I have a 3.8 and will take the SAT in May.”
Johnson said he’s open to play in any kind of offense.
“I think I can play in any offense, I just want to play football for as long as I can,” said Johnson.
Johnson is planning to camp at USC, Cal and UCLA as well as the Elite 11 Regional Camp in Oakland.
