Downey (Calif.) receiver Jonathan Swindell (6-3, 195), doesn’t yet have an offer, but an interesting, out-of-region team has been showing the most interest in him.
“I’m getting most of my attention from Tulsa,” said Swindell. “I talk to the coaches a lot there. I’m planning to go to a camp there and if I perform there, they said they’ll offer me on the spot.”
Closer to home, Swindell has a host of schools that he’s interested in.
“I went to San Diego State and UCLA and then I went to USC for Junior Day,” said Swindell. “It was real nice, and the renovations that they’re about to do are real nice.”
Swindell said most of the attention coming his way is as a receiver, though he’ll play some defense this fall.
Last fall, he played with U.S. Army All-American and USC signee Jabari Ruffin.
“Playing with Jabari, it helped me a lot because he is like a big brother to me,” said Swindell. “He helped me out for the offense and he’s walked me through recruiting.
Swindell is still relatively new to the receiver position, having only played it for a year.
“I had some success at it at the Nike Camp, and I’m more confident with it,” said Swindell.
Academically, Swindell has a 3.3 GPA and will take the SAT in May.
