Scrimmages were held throughout the Midlands on Saturday and after the dust settled three Scout300 members from the region committed.

D.J. Ward (Lawton HS, Okla. / 6'4, 235) - Oklahoma Commit

Weather played havoc with the possibility of having a huge recruiting weekend in Norman, but good news did happen when the Sooners secured a commitment from Scout.com's No. 38 player. He will fit in well with fellow 2013 defensive end recruit Matt Dimon.

JR Highlights - Watch Video

Eval: He gets after the quarterback and will get sacks. He gets his hands in the air to bat down balls at the line of scrimmage. He pursues the run well and his long arms and strong hands allow him to drag down ball carriers from out of nowhere. He brings a little bit of everything to the table and is versatile. Deceptively long and lean right now, but after he gets in a college strength and conditioning program he will be a monster.

Nick Ramirez (Lee's Summit West HS, Mo. / 6'2, 220) - Missouri Commit

Missouri has been doing a great job of keeping the home-state players at home and this week was a great testament to that. They landed the top player in the state for 2014 and picked two of the top five for 2013. Ramirez is rated as the No. 10 middle linebacker in the country.

JR Highlights - Watch Video

Eval: Ramirez is a versatile linebacker. He is ranked as a middle linebacker because he is big and can play sideline-to-sideline, but he could easily play outside backer. He is solid in coverage -- even when matching up with receivers and backs and has all of the natural linebacker skills you look for. He lays the wood and he closes well, but he will need to wrap up better when tackling college players.

---------------------------------

Trent Hosick (Statley HS, Mo. - 6'2, 221) - Missouri Commit

Hosick is the top-rated quarterback in Missouri for 2013 and a huge grab for MU. Size wise he is very comparable to last year's signee Maty Mauk, but his skill set is vastly different, giving way to thoughts to a possible multiple quarterback approach in the future.

JR Highlights - Watch Video

Eval: Defines what teams look for as a leader and field general playing quarterback. He has all the tools you look for, and beyond that he has an “It” factor and is just a flat out winner. He has a strong, accurate arm, sees the field well, and can also beat you with his legs. His running ability is rare and has drawn comparisons to Tim Tebow. He hasn’t lost a football game he has started since the 5th grade. Great strength and athleticism. - JP Rock
