Ducks Offer Michigan Sophomore
Sources at Loyola High School informed Scout today that sophomore defensive end Malik McDowell has added an offer from Oregon. The 6'6, 270-lb McDowell is potentially the top recruit in his state for the 2014 class and is one of the contenders for top prospect in the Midwest. Currently, he holds other offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Syracuse and Stanford. USC was in the school yesterday and we're told the Trojans may be the next to offer. McDowell, a two-way starter last season, was one of the top performers at both the Adidas Invitational and Elite Big Man Camp. Oregon has had some success in Michigan the last few years, landing two four-star prospects in cornerback Dior Mathis and offensive tackle Jake Fisher who are currently on the roster.
