Patrick Henry's versatile 6-foot-0, 175-pound David Prince practically grew up in the Hokies' backyard. So when the Roanoke, Va., native chose to verbal to Virginia Tech Mar. 15, it wasn't all that big of a surprise.
"I always knew Tech was where I wanted to go," said Prince, who chose the Hokies over Virginia. "I love the atmosphere and the environment. It's a place where I can wake up every morning and be happy. I just love it. I like the quality of football and the quality of education there."
When Prince visited UVa, a previous contender, it further solidified his feelings for the Hokies. "Once I left UVa, I knew Tech was where I wanted to go. And my commitment is solid."
Prince, a versatile guy on the field for Patrick Henry High, will fit into Tech's system as a slot receiver, he informed FOX Sports NEXT. With this verbal pledge under his belt, his role has morphed from a recruit to a recruiter, and his eyes are on one friend in particular:
"I have been trying to get Oren Burks to come," laughed Prince. He will most certainly get that chance this weekend as the 6-foot-4, 195-pound Burks and a long-list of recruits will be on hand for the Hokies' spring game. Stay tuned on FOX Sports NEXT.
