Recruiting Update: Kenny Lacy

Four-star OT from Phoenix talks new offers and summer schedule

Offensive tackle Kenny Lacy from Phoenix (Az.) Mountain Pointe High School has seen is recruitment skyrocket and now holds 26 FBS scholarship offers. Three major college programs extended offers this week and the four-star prospect talks to Scout.com about them.

Lacy says, "Boise State offered early last week. I had talked to Coach Huff a few other times and he seems like a good guy and a good coach. But everyone knows Boise State for the blue turf but I know them as one of the top teams in the country. The finished sixth in the BCS last year and are a very good team. I am going to try and visit them this summer."

While the Broncos were already in the picture, Lacy says his next offer came as a bit of a surprise. "Illinois sent me a message on Facebook. I had never talked to them before, didn't send them my film or anything. The coach sent me a message to call him and when I did he offered. They are a school I need to do more research on."

Shortly after receiving the Illini offer, South Carolina brought his offer total to twenty-six. Lacy comments, "South Carolina is a school that I reached out to and sent my film to. They are very good and plus it is SEC football. The coach emailed me back and said to call and when I did they offered."

But with twenty-six offers on the table, Lacy is adament that he has no favorites. "I don't plan to narrow my list until my season starts," he says. "I will narrow it down to ten or twelve schools then. This summer I plan to make some unofficial visits but I have not set up the schedule completely yet. I know I will head to California and see UCLA, Cal and USC. I will go down to Tucson and see Arizona. I have not been able to see them since Coach Rodriguez took over. I will also go see Arizona State again. But I haven't decided on the others yet."
