Scout.com: What were your stats/honors from last season?
Parker Zellers:
"My stats for my junior year were, 74 tackles, 10 sacks, and 1 forced fumble. My honors were: 2011 AZ Republic 2nd Team Division II All State Defensive Lineman, 2011 Second Team Division II Section III Defensive Lineman (AZ Football Coaches Association), 2011 Honorable Mention Division II (Scout.com), and AZ Republic 2011 1st team All Northeast Football team."

What is your official height and weight?
"My official height and weight is, 6-1 259 pounds."

What is your greatest football memory?
"My greatest football memory had to be participating in the 2010 Semi-Finals vs Williams Field as a sophomore with Coach Bemis."

What are your goals for the upcoming season?
"My goals for my senior year are to dominate my opponent on higher levels and also help lead my team to a State Championship."

How are you preparing for the upcoming season? Will you attend any camps this summer?
"I like to work extra on my pass rushing techniques along with my speed. I will be attending the Iowa State, BYU, ASU, San Jose State, NAU, Northern Illinois, and San Diego State football camps this summer."

What aspect of your game have you really worked hard to improve? What area would you like to keep improving on?
"I have really worked hard on my power and strength because to play at the next level I need to be able to be explosive and carry lots of power and intensity. As I get bigger I need to be able to maintain my speed so that’s where I am trying to improve most."

Who are some of your teammates that people need to watch out for?
"I would definitely say Grant Martinez and Luke Taffuri, although they are nice off the field, on the field they are looking to rip your head off."

Name one teammate you really respect and why?
"I respect Grant Martinez at a higher level than some others because of his character and dedication to the game."

What are your goals regarding playing football in college?
"My main goal is to get a scholarship to a D-1 or D-1AA school."

Who is currently recruiting you? Do you have any offers yet?
"I currently do not have any offers but I am talking to BYU, Iowa State, NAU, and Northern Illinois."

Would you consider staying in state to play in college?
"Yes absolutely, playing in state is one of my primary goals."

What would your top 5 college choices be?
"Iowa State, BYU, Northern Illinois, San Diego State, and ASU (no particular order)."

Who is the best player you ever played against? Why?
"I would say Mitch Fischer from Ironwood Ridge because he ran the ball with determination."

Name one opponent who you really respect and why?
"I really respect Kendyl Taylor because of his high class and athletic ability."

What are your best max lifts in the bench, squat, power clean and 40 yard dash?
Bench- 310
Squat-455
Power Clean- 260

How do you think your coach would describe you as a player?
"Physical, nasty, and powerful."

What are your strengths and weaknesses as a player?
"My strengths would definitely be my motor off the edge and positive attitude on the field. My weakness would be my height."

Who is your favorite athlete and why?
"My favorite athlete is Dwight Freeny because as a defensive end at 6’1’’ he obviously didn’t let height get in his way of how successful he is today."

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
"Set yourself apart from everyone else, be uncommon."

Tell us what can we expect from your team this season?
"We have been through a lot as a team this past year, we know what division II is like, we’ll be ready."

What position do you think you will play in college?
"I think maybe if I get up to 275 I could play as a defensive tackle, it is too hard and early to know yet."

What can a college program expect from you as a player?
"They can expect that I will be doing anything I can as a player to get better and I will be doing my best to be the best."

What is your GPA and SAT/ACT score?
"My current GPA is a 2.81, I plan to get it to a 3.0 by the end of my junior year. I have not taken the ACT yet."

What will the main factors be when you choose a school?
"Location, type of football program, and academics."
