Class of 2013
Tacoma (Wash.) Bellarmine
6'4", 219lbs/ Quarterback
Recruiting: Committed to Colorado.
Liufau is extremely athletic and uses it to avoid pressure and extend plays. What I like best is that he is still a true pocket passer even with his athleticism. Unlike many of his peers, Liufau does not just take off with his legs at the first sign of trouble. He will slide in the pocket or roll out to avoid the pressure while keeping his eyes downfield.
Colorado is getting a pure competitor and a quarterback that is off the charts in many of the intangible aspects of the game. Liufau is one of the most underrated prospects in the West and as a result, Colorado will likely have to play some defense to hold onto this three-star.
Here is what National Recruiting Analyst Brandon Huffman had to say:
"The first thing that stands out about Liufau is his toughness in the pocket. He stay's back there, taking the heat, but staying patient, going through his progressions, and finding the open receiver. Liufau consistently stands tough in the pocket, throwing as he gets hit, and still following through to complete the pass. He's got decent downfield arm strength, but is at his best throwing the shorter and intermediate routes."
