When Arlington (Texas) Mansfield Timberview class of 2014 safety Brandon Simmons was just a young baby faced seventh grader, his father Kashann co-owner of New Level Athletics had him participate in the very first event the company ever held in New Jersey.
The field was littered with D-I athletes and right in the middle of them was Brandon trying to get his due. Now four years later, Simmons is establishing himself as a potentially elite level safety prospect.
He is no longer the long, gangly, baby faced little kid. He has come back as a young man with several scholarship offers. Simmons has family in the Pittsburgh area and over the weekend he put on a show for them.
Simmons is sporting offers from Ole Miss, Purdue, Georgia Tech, UCLA, Temple and SMU. He is waiting to get one from West Virginia, where his father went to school.
Here is a video interview with Brandon Simmons who talks about those early years and what it means to be a star at his fathers camps.
