2014 Player Intro: Kammy Delp
Pomona (Calif.) Diamond Ranch 2014 lineman Kammy Delp might have a few seasons left before college, but he's already working hard to make a statement on the field. "I've been working out with Prime Time Polynesian, which really helps me with my speed and block shedding, getting off the block faster. I've also been playing rugby and basketball, which helps me get my speed and agility up. I've been doing a lot of lifting, too," he said. The 6'4", 270 lb. prospect recently started playing on the defensive side of the ball and thinks that's where he'll most likely end up. "I started as a tight end on Varsity last year, and about halfway through the season I came in at defensive tackle. I think that in college, I'll end up somewhere on the line," he said. Though a 2014 athlete, Delp has been receiving interest from a few programs. "I've been hearing from a few private universities, such as Duke and Lehigh, and occasionally Northern Arizona. Though he's keeping his options open, there is one Pac-12 program that Delp grew up a fan of, and after spending some time on campus, is hoping to receive interest. "I'm mainly interested in USC. It's been my school since I was around 5 years old. I love the way the program is, just their playing style and their academics. I went down to campus my freshman year with one of my coaches; the coaches spoke about their playbook and what they expect from players coming into the program, and that really stood out. I hope to take another visit soon," he said. Delp is also hoping to take a look at both Oregon State and Utah State, and is spending the next few weeks getting ready for spring practice and Diamond Ranch. "We start spring ball in about two weeks, and I'm really looking forward to it. I know that Coach (James) Cregg, the offensive line coach at at USC, will be coming down, and one of the coaches from UNLV will be down, so it will be a good opportunity for me," he said.
