Justin Strong split time last season at linebacker and safety for Summit and also saw time at running back. In 14 games, the athlete played nine at outside ‘backer but said he prefers the secondary.
“I really like strong safety,” Strong said. “I can play free too but I like strong safety because I can play in the box and I’m definitely a hitter. If I have a choice to go for the pick or go for the big hit, I’m going for the hit.
“I only had one interception last season but had seven knockouts, where I put the player out of the game. I’ll play anywhere though, wherever the team needs to play, I’ll play.”
Strong said a few schools, including his current leader are recruiting him for running back.
“Boise State and Washington State both like me at running back,” Strong said. “I’m also hearing from San Diego State, Wyoming, San Jose State, Washington and USC and they all like me for safety. SDSU actually offered me last week and that’s my first one so I was really excited about it. I’m going to try and visit there for a practice real soon and get a tour of the campus as well.
“Boise State is probably my top school right now and they sound close to offering as well. They’re recruiting me hard and I’m going to camp with them June 13. I also plan to camp with USC, UCLA and maybe Oregon. BYU invited me to their Junior Day as well so things are definitely picking up for me.”
