DE Hayward Picks Terps

Maryland added its third member of the 2013 class when Eastern Shore standout Derrick Hayward of Wicomico High (Salisbury, Md.) committed to the Terps.

Derrick Hayward favored Maryland for a while, and just how much is showing through.

The 6-foot-4, 200-pound defensive end from Wicomico High (Salisbury, Md.) gave a non-binding oral commitment to Terps coach Randy Edsall.

"Yes, I committed," Hayard texted Scout.com He joins The Gilman School (Baltimore) quarterback Shane Cockerille and Charter School of Wilmington (Del.) cornerback Jarrett Ross in Maryland's 2013 class.

Hayward made 68 tackles and had eight sacks as a junior.
