With a long and rangy frame he was one of the most impressive specimens at the DFW Nike Football Training Camp.
He played with a high level of intensity and a low pad level. He got after the quarterback and chased down nimble ball carriers in the backfield. He does has the frame to grow in to a defensive tackle, but is moves and play like a natural end.
OU's Mike Stoops was most noticeable coaching figure on hand to see the action and Mixon's performance must have impressed him as well.
"Oklahoma offered Dimarya Mixon," a source at West Mesquite informed Scout.com on Tuesday morning.
But it was an offer from former Mesquite area resident Todd Graham at Arizona State that really caught his attention and he made a commitment to the school on May, 10.
He has yet to make a visit to see the school, but is looking forward to seeing it for himself and locking in this summer on an unofficial visit.
"My main focus is I can't wait to meet coach Graham and see how he is," Mixon explained. "That is what I am looking forward to."
"Besides that over the internet I have seen the campus and everything, but that's pretty much what I am waiting to see to. I can't wait to see it myself."
