Brecksville-Broadview Heights quarterback Tommy Tupa has committed to Miami of Ohio, choosing the RedHawks over the likes of Marshall, Ohio University, Toledo and Western Michigan.
"I have committed to Miami," Tupa stated Friday afternoon. "It's just a perfect fit for me, and I loved everything about the program. Coach (Don) Treadwell is doing great things there, and I loved the coaching staff and the players."
"I visited there a few weeks ago and loved it," he continued. "I just felt now was the right time to commit, because I know I have found the right school for me. Miami is a great fit, athletically and academically. I know the history of the MAC in developing quarterbacks, and that played a part in my decision as well. I plan on majoring in business at Miami."
Tupa missed most of his junior season due to injury, but put up big numbers in the season opener, throwing for 420 yards and four touchdowns. He suffered a collarbone injury shortly after and missed the bulk of the 2011 season.
